Meet our staff:

Elver Pardo

4-H and Youth Development Extension Agent

Elver joins us with experience as a 4-H Youth Development Specialist since 2002 with the State of Missouri. He has held several positions in Missouri including a specialist position in three counties and a statewide position in a special program to outreach Latino/Hispanic populations at the 4-H Center for Youth Development.

A native from Bogotá Colombia, South America, he received his master’s degree in education from Drury University in Missouri in 2002 and a psychology degree from Universidad Santo Tomas in Bogotá Colombia in 1998.

Elver provides leadership to our animal science, agricultural literacy, natural resource programs, environmental education, citizenship and leadership education, workforce preparation and career development, and outreach programs.

Melinda Souers

4-H and Youth Development Extension Agent

Melinda joined the staff of Orange County Extension in 2017. She has lifelong experience in 4-H as a member in Clay County, an Agent in Lake from 1993 to 2004 and currently as a 4-H parent in Osceola County. Melinda is also a certified Agriculture teacher and was the Veterinary Assisting Teacher at Harmony High School from 2009 to 2017.

Melinda received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Animal Science) from the University of Florida and her Master of Education from the University of California, Davis.

Program responsibilities include recruiting training and supporting adult volunteers as well as providing leadership to school enrichment programs and community clubs in the areas of STEM, Healthy Living, and Citizenship/Leadership.

Brett Sollazzo

Administrative Specialist

Mr. Brett Sollazzo was born in Florida, and raised in the small town of Spring Hill. He made his way over to Central Florida in 2010 to attend UCF, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelors of Psychology. During that time, he worked in the hospitality industry at Universal Orlando Resorts, and the last few years at The Orlando Eye.

This is his first experience with Orange County Extension, and started his role as the 4-H Administrative Assistant in June of 2017. Brett is excited to learn new things, meet new people, and gain valuable experience through 4-H.
