Babysitting Camp

June 16—June 20

This camp will teach participants how to safely care for themselves and the children in their care while babysitting. Daily topics include: Child Development and Safety (personal, home and child).

Teen Horizons

July 14-17, 21-24

Teens will explore future educational and career opportunities as well as learn valuable life skills. Scheduled Topics include: Conflict Management, Renting Wisely, Healthy Eating/Meal Preparation, Financial Management, and Resume writing. Creative learning activities include involvement in an improv workshop led by a skilled improv teacher and a Spectrum Personality Inventory. Guest speakers from a variety of professions and vocations. Field trips to local vocational schools and a visit from University of Florida admissions personnel.
2.5 GPA Required. (Schedule subject to change.)

“Teening Up” With Your Adolescent: Parenting Children Ages 9-16

“Before You Tie the Knot” Marriage Preparation (BYTTK)

Fee: $10 per couple, per 5 hour session

Location: Extension Education Center

Description: A program based on curriculum created by University of Florida faculty designed to educate couples prior to marriage on the following topics: communication, conflict, money management, and parenting.

This class fulfills the requirements of Florida Statute 741, Marriage Preparation and Preservation Act.    A $32.50 discount on the marriage license is given for couples who have completed an approved pre-marriage course and the 3-day waiting period required upon applying for a license is waived.    The Extension class has been approved by the Orange County Clerk of Courts. Refreshments served.
