Irrigation Auditing - Water Conservation in the Landscape

Composting and Rain Barrel Workshop

Location: Extension Education Center - Magnolia Room

Description: Learn how to turn your plant waste material into compost by conventional methods for homeowners and vermicomposting for apartment, condo, or trailer residents. Conserve water in your yard with the use of rain barrels. One Rain Barrel will be provided to each Orange County family, courtesy of Orange County Environmental Protection Division and Orange County Utilities.

Vegetable gardening - Fall

Description: Fall is the beginning of nine months of great gardening in Florida. Learn the basics of vegetable gardening including soil preparation, adjusting soil pH, fertilizing, irrigation, pests and diseases.

Description: As the temperatures begin to cool down, it is the perfect time to start repairing the damage to your lawn caused by insects, weeds, or root rot.

Tropical Fruit for Central Florida

Description: Tropical and subtropical fruit crops may be good alternatives for planting in the home landscapes with the recent diseases affecting citrus.

Description: Turf consumes a great deal of irrigation water. Consider using other ground covers to reduce the turf areas in your lawn and water savings will follow.
